Werewolf Rising R. L. LaFevers

This is the story of a boy who after years of being picked on by school bullies, finally shall we say takes care of the problem. Everyone pats him on the back, except his uncle. His uncle cancels the plans for his 13th birthday, tickets for him and two of his buddies to a Seatle Seahawks game.

As his birthday approaches wierd things begin happening. He smells his aunt as she comes through the door, he's been a vegetarian for year but he sudden;y craves raw hamburgers. In the days directly surrounding his birthday his temperature spikes and he becomes very ill.

His uncle refuses to take him to the doctor or "to call the one person who can help" as his aunt begs him to. Finally someone shows up at their door, the man takes him away from his aunt and uncle and reveals to him that his problems stam from the fact that he is a werewolf.

This book is one of the best teen wolf books I've read in a long time it's actually better than Blood and Chocolate.

blood and chocolate

This book was made into a movie and just from previews don't bother with the movie they butchered it.
It's about a girl (Vivian), who is a werewolf posing as a normal teenager. Then you get the whole "Meat-boy" thing about Aidan who is a good guy but kinda wimpy.
my opinion i'm not going to see the movie because well first of all the guy playing Gabriel is in his 40's, he's supposed to be in his um maybe late twenties (it's been a couple years since i read it give me a break, okay?). That's just wrong although i will say having seen the guy in SWAT he is a pretty good actor.
