Booking Through Thursday

Book Gluttony! Are your eyes bigger than your book belly? Do you have a habit of buying books far quicker than you could possibly read them? Have you had to curb your book buying habits until you can catch up with yourself? Or are you a controlled buyer, only purchasing books when you have run out of things to read?
Tough question actually. I get ahead of myself all the time. I go to book sales and buy ten to fifteen books most times (we're talking library sales at 10 cents to a dollar books not like Borders or something). As such I have boxes and boxes of unread books around my bedroom.
Regular readers I can hear you wonder how then can I ever possibly be out of books to read?
Quite simple. I buy books on speculation. Hmm this serious sci-fi/fantasy looks good, I'll buy this too. Ooooh look they have the other two in this trilogy better grab them too. And I either won't realize that it's a second series you NEED to have read the first in order to understand or it ends up haveing been printed in a tiny barely ledgible font.
Unless I run out of money (it has indeed been known to happen.) I will just keep buying books. i love them, love having them. Even if I never read them. Like The Fortunes of Captain Blood, or The Day of the Djinn Warriors (I skimmed, Mrs. Gaunt died and took over someone else's body. Nimrod annoyed me in it. I have book 5 coming on Library Loan right now {has already shipped should be here soon, Lackey's Foundation is already there, as is the mistake book that I didn't request, Captain Blood His Fourtunes [a different printing of formentioned Captain Blood book]}).

Going to the library has really helped my budget, but my TBR stack is still quite large.

gautami- Exactly! Although I have this wonderful creature on campus with me. It's called a younger brother. And he has been known to buy me food. So I seldom have to worry.

Holly- If I didn't get books out of the library, I would owe my soul to creditors in the attempt to read everything I wish to!

Proud to be one, but I try not to buy. I grab the ones that I'm most desperate to read and leave the rest on a list.

Not having a lot of money means I haven't been able to buy to many books at once . I have managed to borrow to many books from the library and not ended up reading them and , paying an over due fine .

mattviews- I'm getting to be good at the not buying any books thing. It hurts but I'm managing.

underthepaw- my last two overdue fines were 12.60 and 9.80.... I could have gotten new Sabatini novels for that! Or pre-ordered the new Charlaine Harris book I want so badly...
