Okay I'm getting sick of all the Atheist cr#p out there

Originally this was supposed to be a posy of silly kind of wild, insane Breeze style Myspace Bumper Sticker post. You've seen them before many times. As I got started looking for good ones that I knew I hadn't had up before, I came across a whole new set of offensive anti-religion stickers. I didn't come across one anti-atheist sticker. In fact I've only ever come across one.

While to a certain extent I understand that some people truly cannot believe in a higher power and I accept that I find it incredibly offensive that people who so closely guard their right to not have a religion seem to think it's okay for them to decide that I cannot have one.

I love God. Or at least I do my best to. Sometimes things happen and I get mad at him. Then I remember, God is not the only force at work. There is the Devil and the very nature of humanity in and of itself. And I accept bad things happen to really good people (I have not and never will claim to be a good person). I try to remember to wear my cross (actually a Crucifix) everyday. Sometimes I don't remember. I don't wear it only as a symbol of my religion and my devotion to said religion I wear it as a beacon. So that it's a little easier for the Man Upstairs to find me. Not because I think he couldn't without it I just want to make it a little easier for him. There are a lot of wayward people on this planet and He's very busy.

So quick poll which of the above stickers do you think I found most offensive?

okay enough Anti-Christian sh- stuff already.

I have, many times, posted against anti-Atheist stuff. I think I'm entitled to post on this.

And FYI this time, leave something I find insulting or degrading to my religion in the comments and I will delete it. I'm kind of sick of feeling like I have to defend my religion. I have never asked someone to defend their religion, or lack there of, perhaps to explain it so I can understand better but never to defend. All I ask is that others have the same respect.

Why is that so hard to ask?

2008 survey:

Total Christians: 76.0 percent

Catholic: 25.1 percent

Other Christian: 50. 9 percent (ME)

Other religions: 3.9 percent

Nones: 15.0 percent

Don’t know/refused: 5.2 percent

And before you bring up the falling number of Christians allow me to point out. I have friends who claim to be Atheist and yet attend church every week because they enjoy the sermons. Which I find hypocritical. They attend church then blast me for believing (I do not attend church, no car).... Yeah classy.

Also through out High School and College, religious people have been black listed. It has become insane! I've had people tell me the cross I wear (heirloom, given to me by my grandmother {actually from a rosary that apparently fell apart}), was pointless, as "He doesn't exist, you're an idiot", and yes I still talk to the girl who said that although I made it clear I found that statement incredibly offensive. Most of my friends (nearly all of my college friends are Atheist, with one Christian {different sort} and one Islamic girl thrown in) and I agree to disagree on our religious stances. My one friend has a very strange religion. She believes in ancient Greco-Roman Gods with some modern Wiccan thrown in. Actually she's fascinating to talk to. She is also one of the few who accepts that I am incredibly religious for someone with my very casual religious upbringing. I don't remember more than a dozen trips to church in my life.

I could go on but I figure I've angered enough of my readers and my wrist (my mom thinks I may have carpel tunnel syndrome in both arms) is really starting to hurt. (and yes symptoms fit nearly perfectly).

a while ago underthepaw did a post on why atheist so here's one on why a believer

I don't need proof. I have this thing called faith. I don't need to be able to say "here is irrefutable evidence of God". From years of studying sciences Bio chem etc. science changes incredibly often. I mean they can't even decide how to name animals (scientifically) they just keep changing it. But I should have more faith in that? Riiight.

As my older readers know, I'm just as annoyed by fundamentalist Christians etc as I am by the rabid athiests who want to take "under God" out of the Pledge. It's been in there over 200 years deal with it...

There was a time when if someone decided they didn't believe in the Christian God he/she was burned/hung/disemboweled (fascinating the things they could get away with
). Or you know the whole whacking Protestants thing in France... Hey I did retain some history classes.

I now have to sit through classes where the mantra is how wonderful Death is (another post altogether) and how Christians are "horrible" "unethical" "immoral" and how some of the best people are atheist. I won't argue with that there are wonderful atheists out there. Most of my college friends are atheists. But I don't understand how Christians have become these horrible things to so many people. I'm not saying there aren't some really nasty ones and that there haven't been even worse ones through time. But there are just as many evil people in other religions and there are incredibly evil atheists too. I don't know any personally but evil exists everywhere.

I also sit through a bio class where the professor goes on about how God making the world is a load of... You get the point... I find it far easier to believe God made the Earth and the water on it then I do to believe that some random asteroids containing crystallized water from somewhere else managed to hit our relatively small planet and melt. (also feel free to irrefutably prove that one to me, good luck with the time machine).

Also as far as evolution and the whole 6 days of creation and rest thing... How do we know God is to the seventh day yet? How do we now evolution isn't just God tweaking Man until He's satisfied? Time is an entirely human construct.

Although that could go into how do we know we're not just in some one's video game or something.

Hey anything is possible.

Also if this is a little rambly and difficult I'm hyped on meds and have a nasty sinus infection. Also less then 2 hours of sleep last night.

also something interesting my friend Kristin used as her status on facebook: It's okay to leave a path of destruction to Hell. It can't get any worse.

The Goddess Chant

My friend Kristin made me a CD a looong time ago. I only listened to the first four songs. Sorry Kristin. I likes #s 1,3,4 Let The Bodies Hit the Floor, Marilyn Manson's This is Halloween (she downloaded it because I said I loved it and she wanted to hear it...) and Godsmack's Voodoo.

Today I racharged my iPod and was listening to it while we milked the cows. I kept skipping th "Unknown Artist #X"

Then I got lazy and stopped skipping stuff. This is what I heard and I loved it. Pagan Goddess Chant. Think I'm doomed to Hell because I liked it? I don't but I just wondered...

lyrics best I can figure:
Isis

Astarte

Diana

Hecate

Demeter

Kali

Innana

I think this best fits with modern Wicca. It's on some Goddess stuff websites. But really I don't know. Any ideas?
