I decided that a new template and all that stuff might encourage me to post more... Plus I got tired of all my stuff being so squeezed in so I switched to a new template and completely redid my blog. Including a custom bookshelf picture of my favorite hard covers and almost all of them are Young Adult books... The old header really wasn't appropriate as it was all Romance novels, and well we don't do those here do we? Well not so far anyway what the next few months hold nobody knows! Let me know what you think!

Is a flattered Breeze
Last Friday, my mom made my older sister take me to the library. Despite my age of 20, I have yet to learn to drive.
Why did mom make Liz take me?
Easy, my dad, not a big book type guy, found in an article in our local paper, a book he wanted to read. So being the amazing daughter that I am I got it on loan for him. Mom wanted him to have it over the weekend.
We got there. I returned my books including the Inferno, which I didn't finish (hangs head in shame). Then I spent a pleasurable hour or so searching for good books I hadn't read yet. I found two. (Really small library) When I went to check my books and the books my sister found that she wanted to read, I discovered that the Young Adult book I'd requested had come in as well.
Then the library volunteer hit me with it. "The head librarian asked me to ask you some thing. We've applied for a grant to allow us to restock the young adult section. Would you be interested in making us a list of books you would like to see on the shelves?
I swear I almost cried. Not that they haven't asked my opinion before but never like this. Generally they ask me if I've read certain books and if it would be a good investment, not to make a list of books I want to read. Bee is going to be very busy for a little while making a list of Young Adult books she wants. Hopefully, they'll get the grant.
Any ideas anyone has would be much appreciated!

Dark Whispers: Unicorn Chronicles book 3 Bruce Coville
This book was amazing. It "officially" hit stores today. I finished my copy over a week ago. I was amazed at how worth the six plus year wait.
When Song of the Wanderer book two in the series came out, I was a small chubby seventh grader. Now I'm a chubby 5'7" year three of college student.
And yet this book was just as important to me. I waited the years checking the Unicorn Chronicles website.
I read and reread the first two books. Then finally bought myself paperback copies of them. Now I want the matching editions of hardcovers.
Yes, this is the first hardcover that I wouldn't trade for a paperback if you paid me.
It again follows Cara Diana Hunter, who has informed the old queen that the Wanderer is weary, and then traveled across Luster to the cave of the last Dragon of Luster to bring the Wanderer home. She has reconnected with the father who "deserted" her though he has joined the hunt for the unicorns led by the ancient Beloved.
Now Beloved has one of the Queen's Five, the amulets that allow the wearer to travel freely between Earth and Luster "Luster take me home" "Luster let me go".
The old queen has faded and a new queen has taken her place, Amalia Flickerfoot, formerly known as Ivy Morris, Cara's grandmother. Cara is very special a hated hunter as well as the granddaughter of the Queen.
Now her grandmother sends her to discover when and where Beloved plans to begin the Last Hunt. As well as who the Whisperer is.
The book is really well written and Coville once again proves why he's in my top five favorite authors.
The only part I didn't like aside from Finder(a unicorn)'s death, was what he did with my adored bear-man, the Dimblethum.
I am waiting impatiently for the next one!

Darren Shan
I'm one of those odd people who can tell you the exact circumstances in which I fell in love with many things.
From Emerson Drive music (8th grade, Math homework and being exhausted made it so I Should Be Sleepin'.) to multiple other things.
I can't tell you the day or anything like that, but I found a copy of Shan's Cirque Du Freak. The first book of the series, at our local library. Over the years since then (I was still in high school) I've loved and hated his books. I loved them until he killed off Crepsley, then loved them again because although he did kill off the main character, he didn't kill off the vampire that was a little wild.
Today I find out that the next book in his most recent series the Demonata has been in American libraries long enough to be on inner library loan... needless to say I've put in a request.... I love this series. I'm creepy and love demon books, and movies (why do you think I like Constantine so much?).
